VitalCare Private Duty Services
VitalCare's Private Duty services can be tailored to fit any family's health and supportive needs. Services are designed to provide home care assistance to people with chronic, long-term or around-the-clock needs, and to provide community education and wellness programs throughout our service area.
In the Private Duty programs, VitalCare staff may be working with family members to enable a person to remain independent. VitalCare can "fill in" on the days when family members are unavailable to care for elders, or we can provide daily or around-the-clock care. The staff can also coordinate services for clients and communicate with family members, physicians and other community agencies that may contribute to quality of life for elders.
Private Duty Services include:
- Visiting Nurses
- Home Health Aides
- Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists
- Medical Social Workers

Visiting Nurse services under the Private Duty Program include:
- an assessment of your health – how you are doing on the day they visit. This is helpful for early recognition of subtle changes in your condition. The nurse will tell you what changes are normal, what changes bear monitoring, and what changes may require physician or emergency room intervention.
- education about your condition and how you can best deal with it at home
- wound care when you have had surgery
- infusion nursing for IV antibiotics, nutrition, hydration or chemotherapy
- Pt-INR monitoring for Coumadin management
- ostomy care, education and support
- ventilator management
- enteral feeding
- education about how to effectively manage your health condition
- organization of medication boxes and education about your medications
Our visiting nurses work with clients, their physicians and with members of their family or "support team" to maximize healthy living and capabilities for independence.
